When it comes to DIY teacher appreciation gifts, there are a ton of options to choose from. I know what you are thinking… Is it really ok to give my child’s teacher booze? The answer is yes, it is! Your child’s teacher has lovingly and patiently nurtured, taught and cared for your child on their sweetest days as well as the days your child has been a total monster. Being a teacher requires patience, a love of teaching, and a love of children. This job can certainly not be done by just anyone (or at least not done well). If you have an amazing teacher, give them an out of the ordinary gift that they are sure to remember and enjoy!
DIY Teacher Appreciation Gift – Prosecco & Ferrero Rocher Pineapple
Required Supplies:
- Prosecco (You can substitute with a favorite wine or champagne if you like. Remember, the wider and larger the bottle you get, the more chocolate you will need.)
- Ferrero Rocher Chocolate (You will need more than you think, so buy the large box. Places like Costco often sell the large boxes and it’s cheaper than buying multiple small boxes.
- Green felt or tissue paper
- Twine (optional)
- Hot glue gun and extra hot glue sticks
Let’s Get Started:
Once you have collected all of your supplies, plug in your hot glue gun so it can start warming up. Take out your first Ferrero Rocher chocolate and gently pull back the brown wrapper from the gold wrapper. You will want to place a small dot of glue here; otherwise, your chocolate will start falling off the bottle once it’s been sitting for a little bit. The chocolate itself should be wrapped well in the gold wrapper and therefore should not come in contact with the glue.
Once you have glued the gold wrapped chocolate to the brown wrapper, place glue on the back side of the brown wrapper and stick it to the bottom of your bottle. Continue this process in a circle around your bottle. Make sure to complete each row before moving on to the next row.
Only glue chocolate up to the neck of the bottle. From there, draw leaves of different sizes on your green felt or tissue paper, cut them out, and glue them around the neck of your bottle. You only need to glue them at the bottom of the neck so that the top of the leaves naturally fan out and cover the neck of the bottle.
Optional: (Not pictured) Take your twine and wrap it at the base of the neck of the bottle to cover where you glued the leaves on. If you don’t have twine, you can add another row of chocolate to cover where the leaves were glued on.
There you have it! An easy and fun DIY teacher appreciation gift. Your child’s teacher is sure to love their Prosecco and Ferrero Rocher pineapple and it will be a gift that they will not soon forget!
